But it was the light that captured me. That particular quality of the setting sun, how it caught the stone and set it ablaze. I began with layers of deep ochre and burnt sienna, building the foundation of the rock face. Each stroke followed the natural contours, imitating the landscape's natural flow. As I worked on the sky I had to hold back to not add too much, not work into it too much otherwise the base ochre would be lost.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis painting is a conversation between light and shadow, between the permanence of the landscape and the fleeting beauty of a single moment. It is the Peak District. Dramatic, and utterly transformative.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHave you ever found yourself sitting still, trying to make the moment stretch on forever?
